This is for all people that might be searching the German forums on how to get TMC working in your US Spec MINI. There are two steps.

1. You must get the NAV in European mode. There are two ways to do this. You can take it to the dealer or you can reload an older firmware and then move it back to V27.1 (the current). This is for MKIV (DVD based NAVs only). When you set it to European mode, you will lose feet as they become yards and you will lost the emergency menu. However, you will gain the menus that have the TMC settings. If you do the downgrade and upgrade, it is at your own risk.

2. You will need a European CD boost that is made by Siemens (I believe). http://www.newministuff.com/boost.jpg

Above is a picture of one in cassette format. CD is also available.

Simply install the radio and then tune to a station that has the TMC feed. Simple as that.

I have used it a lot here in Germany and love it.
